A Rescue Mission

Our Ministry School and Learning Center is not just rescuing at-risk children,
we are raising up next-generation leaders to transform the nation of Myanmar.

More than an orphanage.

At Breakthrough Nations, we are focused on Kingdom ministry — wherever God leads. When we saw the need to rescue orphaned and at-risk children off the war-torn streets of Myanmar so they would not be trapped in child trafficking or forced labor, we established a safe home where these children could live in safety, go to school, and be cared for.

Today, this safe house has become a ministry school and learning center for all the children of Myanmar experiencing homelessness or abandonment. These children are no longer orphans — they are children of God.

A ministry that is making ministers.

When attempting to describe the one-of-a-kind ministry established by Pastor David Hwte in his native Myanmar, the word orphanage is often used. But it is so much more.

Through our educational curriculum and ministry training, these children not only now have a safe home and family — they also have a purpose. By equipping them with basic care, life skills, education, and Kingdom values — we are raising up a new generation to be salt and light in their region and our world.

  • It is home to over 50 children and teenagers rescued from homelessness, human trafficking, and drug abuse. Many of these rescued children have parents in prison or addiction issues that make their home life completely dysfunctional. Breakthrough Nations has rescued children from situations that would otherwise lead them to be sold to human traffickers who would transport them to neighboring countries to work in slave-like conditions by exploitive businesses or, even more tragically, into the sex trade.

  • It’s a haven in a poverty-stricken and war-torn nation. Myanmar is ranked as the 27th poorest nation in the world. To compound the poverty the country has been in a state of civil war since 2021.

  • It’s a school. We are not only a safe house and orphanage — but an officially recognized school that educates the children in our care as well as students from the surrounding communities. Through online English and computer classes, musical training, courses to increase job skills, and opportunities for ministry and employment — our ministry school and learning center is equipping these children for adulthood.

  • It’s a rescue for children trapped in hunger, poverty, and physical danger from the civil war. It’s a safe place for children that have been lost and don’t have a family.

  • It’s a ministry. Raised with Kingdom values and a strong belief in a God who has set them free — these children are faith-filled believers who are reaching their own communities with the love and power of God.

One child at a time. One nation over time.

Our Ministry School in Myanmar is raising up leaders to transform the next generation. Through our educational curriculum and ministry training, these children not only now have a safe home and family — they also have a purpose. By equipping them with life skills, education, and Kingdom values, we are raising up a new generation to be salt and light in their region and world.
